Anglo Aro war (1901-02)
This is a picture of British troops, during a war between the Aro Confederacy (present day Eastern Nigeria) and Great Britain. The war began after years of failed negotiations between the British colonists and the Aro Confederacy. After the war the Aro Confederacy collapsed and their leader Eze Kanu Okoro was arrested.
Second Boer War (1899-1902)
This war was fought between the South African Republic and Orange Free State on one side and on the other was Great Britain. This war was fought in 3 phases, in the first phase the Boers mounted pre-emptive strikes into British-held territory in Natal and the Cape Colony. In the Second the British launched an attack in 1900 to relieve the sieges, this time achieving success. While in the third phase, the Boers launched a guerilla war against the British forces, lasting two years, during which the Boers raided British Targets.
WW1 (1914-18)
There were 2 sides in the war, the Triple Entente and the Central Powers. The Triple Entente was composed of The Russian Empire, The French Republic and The United Kingdom of Great Britain and Ireland. While the Central Powers consisted of Germany and Austria-Hungary.
Easter War (April 24, 1916- April 30, 1916)
The Rising was launched by Irish Republicans to end British rule in Ireland and establish an independent Irish Republic. The Irish planned to do this because they knew that Great Britain was to engaged in WW1.
Third Afghan war (May 6, 1919- August 8)
The conflict began on 3 May 1919 when Afghan troops crossed the frontier at the western end of the Khyber Pass and captured the town of Bagh. Although initially considered a minor border infraction, this attack was actually part of the wider invasion plan.
